Here are the user-facing changes shipped in May 2026 across the Web App and Desktop App.

Web App

New
  • Team ownership transfer — owners can hand off a team to an admin/editor from team settings (SPK-545)
Improved
  • Camera now stays off until you actually start recording, with crisper recordings and a mirrored preview
  • Device error messages now shown when mic/camera fails
  • Profile image upload limit raised to 5MB
  • Homepage / pricing refresh; removed the Basic plan link from pricing
  • Various other minor UX improvements
Fixed
  • Video upload backlog that caused recordings to fail or finalize slowly
  • Presentation preview no longer mirrors incorrectly
  • Various minor bug fixes

Desktop App

New
  • 1.0 release 🎉
  • Settings page with team & workspace selection
  • Screen-share visibility setting — hide the teleprompter from screen shares/recordings
  • Appearance preference (light/dark/theme control)
  • Windows support for the embedded teleprompter context
  • "Click here to focus" option on the title
Improved
  • Opacity slider polish; opacity now routes correctly on Windows embeds
  • Folder navigation — arrow buttons, collapsible grid view, keeps script actions in view
  • Show all-Spaces window updates + fixed macOS Space click-through recovery
  • In-app updater panel state handling
  • Restored profile menu actions; settings layout polish
  • Settings sync between web and desktop app
Fixed
  • Transparent window background rendering
  • Blocked stray print / context-menu actions on Windows
  • Paid-access gating with a cleaner upgrade prompt for unpaid users/teams
